Since 2004, Mushroom Networks has been leading the field and perfecting the art of Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) and Broadband Bonding®. We built our SD-WAN from the ground up to meet, and exceed, the needs of today’s enterprise customers including small, medium and large organizations worldwide. They specifically designed it for those of you who want the best.
Mushroom Networks devices are smart, self learning, adaptive and blazingly fast. They come with advanced features that will set your WAN network on autopilot and put your mind at ease. Our Broadband Bonding device features include SD-WAN, Security, Advanced Layer-7 Routing, Monitoring Portal, Dynamic Quality of Service, Deep Packet Inspection and Application Performance Optimization for various flow types including live video streaming, VoIP, video conferencing, file transfers, cloud connectivity and others.
Mushroom Networks’ devices can learn and adapt to work around network problems automatically without human intervention, giving you seemingly magical powers over your network.
Aggregate Bandwidth for speed and
Reliability.

MUSHROOM FITS YOUR SIZE ONE OFFICE OR THOUSANDS OF BRANCHES
- 4G LTE, 5G BONDING FOR THE MOST CHALLENGING APPLICATIONS
- You have seen the limits of cellular, especially with mission-critical applications.
- No more. Mushroom Networks multi-SIM broadband bonding devices intelligently combine cellular SIM cards, for boosted speed and unmatched reliability – great for broadcasting high quality video.
SMART NETWORKS THAT LEARN
Our overlay tunnels have independent thought. They track, save, and retain network facts in order to real-time optimize algorithms and respond to shifting network conditions.
Per packet decisions are made based on the application flow type to address network issues including brownouts, blackouts, latency, and packet loss in real-time. Without interfering with ongoing flows, paths are automatically and dynamically grey-listed and white-listed.
Even before you notice a problem, the network has already been fixed.
Set your network on autopilot.

BENEFITS
Downlink and Uplink Bonding
When Truffle or Portabella load-balancing routers are used with BBS (or peered to another Truffle device), they have the ability to bond Internet access lines for all types of traffic, including encrypted traffic such as VPN, for aggregated downlink and uplink speed and capacity.
Networks on Autopilot for High 9s Reliability
In case of Internet access line network problems, Truffle (Portabella) has the ability to keep the ongoing sessions alive by making real-time per-packet routing path decisions, even for the sessions in progress. Additionally, automatic fail over protects against failures of one or more WAN links.
Application Armor with Session Keep Alive
Mushroom Networks devices monitor network conditions and intelligently reacts in real time to mitigate any performance degradation caused by WAN network problems. Managed parameters and network problems include packet loss, latency, jitter, cross-traffic, buffer management, MTU problems, black holes, as well as others. In case of packet loss, spike in latency, or any other degradation on any of the WAN links at the branch office, the VLL tunnel maintains the ongoing IP sessions without loss of performance. VLL accomplishes this by shielding the negative effects of dropped WAN links, lost packets, or high latency on any of the WAN links.
Advanced QoS Algorithms
Application-centric bonding tunnels have the ability to optimize the flows for various applications. As an example, the bonding tunnel has the ability to route packets around networking problems for on-going VoIP/SIP phone calls to keep the MOS score optimized.
Elastic Static IP
Static IP addresses in the cloud (or from your data center) can be mapped onto the branch office Truffle. This means that static IP is available for services that rely on stable IP addressing (such as VPNs, IP-PBX, remote inbound access etc.), even during WAN outages, as long as at least one of the WAN links is up.
HOW IT WORKS
Peering
Truffle (Portabella) devices have the ability to peer with a Mushroom Relay device either through the BBS, or another physical or virtual Truffle appliance hosted in the data center. Between the two endpoints, a VPN-like overlay tunnel is created that can orchestrate the multi-WAN paths. For connectivity between larger number of offices, star or mesh topologies are supported.
Algorithms
The bonding tunnels between the Mushroom endpoints has the ability to implement advanced networking algorithms to optimize the traffic flow that goes through it. Various application-centric overlay tunnels are optimized for various applications such as VoIP, video, UC, chatty applications, cloud-delivered services, file transfers and other application classes.
Measurements
The algorithms that power the Virtual Leased Line tunnels (VLL) rely on the system’s ability to measure various real-time parameters such as packet loss, latency, and jitter as well as recent network history metrics the system measures. The measurements are facilitated via both in-band and out-of-band techniques.
SD-WAN
Mushroom Networks solutions are based on the industry leading and award-winning Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) architecture. The software defined approach enables easy development and deployment bonding tunnels as well as simple and easy management and monitoring of the CPE devices. The single pane of glass dashboard provides visibility and remote access to the CPE units from cloud-based Portal. Devices can be preconfigured and drop-shipped to the location with zero-touch configuration, ensuring rapid and successful deployment.
Third-party monitoring solutions are also supported via SNMP, Syslog, Netflow, and other standards-based APIs.
Implementation
The Relay side of the peering tunnel can be implemented either with a Truffle physical appliance, a Truffle V (a virtual appliance running on a VMWare Hypervisor or Xen Hypervisor) or via the Mushroom Networks-hosted BBS service on Mushroom Networks’ data centers or colocated at AWS (Amazon Web Services) EC2.
Scalability
Clients both big and small, from a single office small business all the way to a service provider roll out with multi-tenancy support for thousands of customers, are supported in Mushroom Networks’ vertically and horizontally scalable platform.
